TIME SCALE PERSONAL UP-GRADATION (PUNJAB GOVERNMENT) — One step of Time Scale Personal Up-gradation is admissible to officers / officials who have more than one steps of promotion subject to the condition that the posts in higher tier are equal to or less than 10% of posts in lower tier. Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) / Provincial Selection Board (PSB) is not required for grant of Time Scale Personal Up-gradation. Those appointed on stagnant posts are entitled to 2-steps of Time Scale Personal Up-gradation and those promoted against such posts are entitled to one step of Time Scale Personal Up-gradation.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (PUNJAB GOVERNMENT) — Financial Assistance to the family of a civil servant who dies while in service. No limit for length of service for the deceased civil servant is prescribed for grant of financial assistance to his family who died while in service. Thus the family of the deceased civil servant will be entitled to financial assistance even the deceased had served for one day only. Families of civil servants who died on or before 09-11-2004 are not entitled to this benefit. Family of a civil servant cannot be refused such financial assistance simply on the grounds that financial position of the family is sound.

FOUR MONTHS SALARY (PUNJAB GOVERNMENT) — FOUR MONTHS SALARY GRANTED TO THE FAMILY OF A DECEASED CIVIL SERVANT INCLUDES LAST PAY DRAWN PLUS ALLOWANCES. THE DATE OF ADMISSIBILITY IS 01.07.2002. FOUR MONTHS’ SALARY WILL BE PAID AT THE TIME OF DEATH OF A CIVIL SERVANT. IN CASE OF IN-SERVICE DEATH OF A CIVIL SERVANT, HIS / HER FAMILY SHALL HENCE FORTH BE ALLOWED FOUR (04) MONTHS SALARY FROM THE DATE OF HIS / HER DEATH.

COMPULSORY RETIREMENT (PUNJAB GOVERNMENT) – Retiring Pension is granted to a Government Servant, who not being eligible for Superannuation Pension, opts to retire after 25 years qualifying service or such less time as may for any special class of Government Servant be prescribed or is compulsorily retired, by the competent authority, after 20 years qualifying service. The pensionary benefits are not allowed to a Government Servant who is compulsory retired before completing a period of 20 years qualifying service.
