THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENTS (INTERNAL AUDIT) RULES, 2018 — They shall extend to the Metropolitan Corporation and Municipal Corporations in the Punjab. They shall come into force at once. Internal Audit means an independent advice, appraisal and consulting activity to add value and to improve the service delivery to achieve the objectives of the Local Government, by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

THE PUNJAB VILLAGE PANCHAYATS AND NEIGHBOURHOOD COUNCILS (DELIMITATION) RULES, 2020 — They shall come into force at once. The Election Commission shall appoint a delimitation committee for a district or a part thereof from amongst the officers of the Election Commission, Government or Autonomous Body controlled by the Government. THE PUNJAB DEMARCATION, CLASSIFICATION AND NAMING OF LOCAL AREAS RULES, 2019 — They shall come into force at once. The words and expressions used but not defined in the rules shall have the same meanings as are assigned to it in the Act. For the purpose of the rules, every Commissioner shall be the Demarcation Authority for all Local Areas in the respective Division. The Demarcation Authority, inter alia, shall hear and decide all suggestions and objections against the initial proposal under Rule 10. THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENTS (SCHEDULE OF ESTABLISHMENT) RULES, 2018 — They shall extend to all Local Governments except the District Education Authorities and District Health Authorities in the Punjab. They shall come into force with immediate effect. Amendment in the Schedule of Establishment means and include creation, upgradation, down gradation, abolition or conversion of any post. The Government may issue Schedule of Establishment for Local Governments and such schedule may include posts of Municipal Officers Planning, Finance, Regulation and Infrastructure. A newly constituted Local Government shall within thirty days of assuming the charge of the office shall draft its Schedule of Establishment on Form I, duly endorsed by its House provided that the Government may issue Schedule of Establishment in case a Local Government is failed to propose its Schedule of Establishment under sub rule (2) and such Local Government shall adopt it.September 4th, 2019 | 0 Comments
THE PUNJAB VILLAGE PANCHAYATS AND NEIGHBOURHOOD COUNCILS ACT, 2019 — It extends to the whole of the Punjab other than the areas notified as cantonments under the Cantonments Act, 1924 (Act II of 1924), or the Cantonments Ordinance, 2002 (CXXXVII of 2002), in relation to the matters covered there under. It shall come into force at once. As soon as may be, but not later than six months of the commencement of this Act, the Government shall, by a notification in the official gazette, establish areas, excluding the areas notified as cantonments, which shall constitute villages and neighbourhoods for the purpose of this Act. Every village and neighbourhood shall have a common assembly for the purposes of this Act. A common assembly shall comprise of every resident of the respective village or, as the case may be, the respective neighbourhood.July 25th, 2019 | 1 Comment
THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 2019 — It shall extend to the whole of the Punjab other than the areas notified as cantonments under the Cantonments Act, 1924 (II of 1924), or the Cantonments Ordinance, 2002 (CXXXVII of 2002) or such other areas as may be notified by the Government for this purpose, in relation to the matters covered there under. It shall come into force at once. All Local Governments constituted or continued under the Punjab Local Government Act, 2013 (Act XVIII of 2013) are hereby dissolved. As soon as may be but not later than one year of the commencement of this Act, the Government shall constitute succeeding local governments in accordance with the provisions of section 15 of this Act.
