Download INITIAL APPOINTMENT – Initial appointment to all posts in grades 1 and above shall be made on the basis of examination or test to be held by the appropriate committee or the board, as the case may be, after advertisement of the vacancies in newspapers, or in the manner to be determined by the Government. A candidate for initial appointment to a post must possess the prescribed educational qualifications and experience and also, except as provided in the rules framed for the purpose of relaxation of age limit, must be within the age limit as laid down for the post.

ALTERATION IN THE DATE OF BIRTH – The date of birth once recorded at the time of joining Government service shall be final and thereafter no alteration in the date of birth of a civil servant shall be permissible.

CHANGE OF NAME – At any time during service, the Chief Minister, in case of an Administrative Secretary, and the Administrative Secretary in all other cases may accept the change of the name of a civil servant on the basis of the change effected in the academic records and the Computerized National Identity Card issued under the National Database and Registration Authority Ordinance 2000 of such a civil servant.
